Shimla- The Perfect Excapade From Hectic City Life

  Shimla, often referred as the Queen of Hills, is one of the most popular tourist destinations in India. The city is located in the northern part of India and is the capital of Himachal Pradesh. Previously known as Simla, the city has been attracting thousands of visitors and nature lovers for a while now. The city derived its name from goddess Kali; it's been said that the goddess descended here in the form of Shyamali Devi. The city is a mix of different religions. It is one of the oldest golf course in India. Additonally people can also go fishing at the upstream of the Pabbar river in Rohru, 110 km from Shimla.   Ice skating in Shimla is one of the most popular things to do while you are in the town during winters. It normally begins in early December and stays open till the end of Feburary. There are two sessions for each day; one in the morning and the other in the evening. Besides this, one can also enjoy the snow. The city gets covered by the thick blanket of snow in winters, providing the most fun way to spend the holidays.
